My Mission

My mission (and I choose to accept it) is to bring love, light, a hug, a little hope, and always a little humor, to a hurting world. My message is one of hope and compassion, and I try to send it into the world as I walk through my daily life, as well as via social media (most often behind the scenes) and handwritten missives.

What you won’t find here is total optimism, good cheer, and the promise that everything will be okay.  I am an optimist, but I also have days when I’m not very optimistic or upbeat.  I try to look on the bright side, for the silver lining, and I can usually find one, but there are days my melancholy takes me over.

The past few years, more than ever, I have realized how many hurting people there are in this world, in all walks of life.  I once told a friend that I had no idea where they were all coming from. My friend said, “They find you. They’re just drawn to you.”  Now I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I’m here, and I want to do whatever I can to heal this hurting world – one person at a time.

I want this to be a place, a safe place, where you can come and talk, be heard, be seen, be acknowledged, be validated.

I will listen.

I will do my best to encourage you.  I will offer you a hug, if you will allow it.

People are treasure and to be treasured. I believe I can learn something from every single person with whom I cross paths. I believe that people matter and that they contain a wealth of good things, i.e., treasure, though often we need to take the time to “dig” for it as it is not always readily apparent. I like to think of myself as a “treasure hunter” and my treasure is found in people.

What you will find here is kindness, compassion, and a sense of humor.

Always.
